Dear Readers,
I mentioned a very old English gardening saying in a previous post:
“One year’s seeding is seven years weeding.”
Grasses have flowered and seeded all over the vegetable garden and are likely to take a lot of mulch and weekly hoeing to remove the seedlings sprouting in spring.
The raised bed in the picture is very typical of the stuff I have been pulling up from the vegetable garden over the last weekend. The pulled weeds can’t go in the compost bin so they are getting added to the fire pit. I hate having to put things in the wheelie bin (garbage can) when I know they can still be a use on the plot.
Do you readers have any tips for eliminating troublesome weeds organically? I’d love to hear about them in the comments.
